LADY LOIS
The LADY LOIS was built in 1928 by Nashville Bridge
Company. She has a GM6-110 diesel engine rated at 220 hp. The Inland
River Record records her as being 100' X 20', but from the measurements
I took showed her to be 90' 6" from bow to monkey rudders. Her original
name was CATHERINE D. Currently, as of 1995, she is owned by Merdie
Boggs & Sons Inc. In 1982 she was leased to Warner Brothers for filming
the TV series "Mississippi". In 1982 she was renamed JOHN W. STONE; in
1983 she was renamed MISSISSIPPI for film purposes only. As of 1996 Lady
lois is now owned by Madison Coal & Supply Co., Charleston, WV
